I have personally tested it, and the Unlock code that it gives me is the same as the other harder methods. I have no clue what the Unfreeze code does. Why is unlocking useful? You can use your smartphone on other carriers. For example, use T-Mobile, or a prepaid SIM card (gophone), or even use carriers in China when you're off traveling (theoretically). Usually, unlocking requires you to send an "unlocker" your IMEI # and some payment around , but with this hack, you can get your phone unlocked yourself for free!
